Best bean to cup coffee machine in 2026
The big choice is the milk system. Pick that first, then the number of drinks.
The best bean to cup coffee machine for most people is one that grinds, brews and froths milk at the press of one button, because that is the reason to buy one over a pod machine. If you mostly drink espresso or black coffee, a simpler model with a manual steam wand costs far less and does the coffee just as well. The eight below were selling in large numbers on Amazon UK on 18 October 2026, from the simplest to the most automatic.

What a bean to cup coffee machine does
- It grinds whole beans, tamps the coffee, brews it and drops the used grounds into a bin inside the machine. You press one button and keep the beans and water topped up.
- That is different from a semi-automatic espresso machine such as the Ninja Luxe Premier, where you fit the portafilter and tamp yourself. Those give you more control but are more hands-on.
- Most bean to cup machines can also use pre-ground coffee through a separate chute, which is handy for decaf.
The milk system matters most
- Manual steam wand (sometimes called a frother). You hold a jug under the wand. Cheapest and easy to clean, but it takes a little practice and you do the work for every latte.
- Automatic milk jug or carafe (Philips LatteGo, De'Longhi LatteCrema). The machine pours the milk and the coffee into your cup. Best if you drink lattes and cappuccinos every day.
- Cleaning. LatteGo has two parts and no tubes. Siemens' EQ6 steam-cleans its milk system automatically. Whatever you buy, the milk parts need rinsing every day.
Other things to check
- Size. Measure the space under your wall cupboards, and leave room above the machine to fill the bean hopper.
- Grinder. Ceramic and steel grinders both work. More grind settings help you tune the taste to different beans.
- Water filter. Fitting the maker's filter cuts limescale and how often you need to descale. In hard-water areas of the UK it is worth it.
- Running costs. Fresh beans usually work out cheaper per cup than pods or a coffee shop. Add filters, descaler and cleaning tablets.

Questions people ask
What is the best bean to cup coffee machine in the UK?
For espresso and black coffee, the De'Longhi Magnifica S is the long-time best seller. For lattes and cappuccinos at one touch, look at a model with an automatic milk system such as the Philips 3300 or 5400 LatteGo or the De'Longhi Magnifica Evo Next.
Is a bean to cup coffee machine worth it?
If you drink two or more coffees a day, usually yes. Fresh beans cost less per cup than pods or a coffee shop, and the coffee is ground fresh each time. The trade-offs are the upfront cost, the worktop space and daily rinsing of the milk parts.
De'Longhi or Philips bean to cup?
Both make machines at every level. Philips LatteGo milk systems are quick to clean with no tubes. De'Longhi's Magnifica range is the long-standing best seller. Choose by the milk system and drink menu you want.
Are Siemens bean to cup machines good?
Siemens' EQ range is popular in the UK, with one-touch drinks and easy-access brewing units. The EQ6 plus S300 makes two coffees at once and cleans its own milk system.
How often do you need to clean a bean to cup coffee machine?
Rinse the milk system after each use, empty the grounds and drip tray every day or two, and descale when the machine asks. Using the maker's water filter reduces descaling.
Can a bean to cup machine use ground coffee?
Most can, through a separate chute for pre-ground coffee, one cup at a time. Check the listing for the model you choose.
