The CREAMi works differently from a traditional ice cream maker. You freeze your mixture solid in the tub, then the machine shaves and churns it into ice cream. What actually matters
You must freeze the base first
The tub needs around 24 hours in the freezer before you process it. Keeping a couple of tubs frozen ahead gets round this.
Extra tubs are part of the cost
Two tubs are included. Most regular users buy more so there is always one ready.
The drawbacks
- It is loud while processing, though only for a few minutes.
- It needs upright freezer space for the tubs.
- The first spin can come out crumbly, and a re-spin is often needed.
CREAMi Deluxe or the standard CREAMi?
The Deluxe has larger 710ml tubs and more functions, including frozen drinks. The standard model is smaller and has fewer programmes. Tubs are not interchangeable between the two sizes.
