Is the Levoit Core 300S Smart Air Purifier worth buying in 2026?
Cleaner bedroom air for allergy season and pets.
The Levoit Core 300S is worth considering if you have hay fever, pets or dust and want cleaner air in a bedroom or living room. It has HEPA filtration, a sensor that adjusts the fan automatically and app control. Like all purifiers it needs replacement filters, and it will not fix damp.

The 30-second verdict
The Core 300S is a compact purifier sized for bedrooms and medium rooms. An air quality sensor runs the fan harder when the air is dirty and quieter when it is clean, so you can leave it on. Levoit sells different filters for pets, toxins and mould. It suits one room at a time. For a large open-plan space, look at a bigger unit.

What actually matters
Read coverage claims carefully
The big number is for one air change an hour. For allergies you want several changes an hour, which means a much smaller room.
Filter costs
Filters need replacing every several months, depending on use. Check the filter price before you buy.
The drawbacks
- Replacement filters are an ongoing cost.
- It is quiet on low and clearly audible on high.
- It treats one room, and works best with the door shut.
Air purifier or dehumidifier?
A purifier removes particles such as pollen, dust and pet dander. A dehumidifier removes moisture. They solve different problems, and neither does the other's job.
